Coach Bolowich brings many years of coaching experience at the youth, college, and semi-professional levels to the Carolina Soccer Camp. This fall, he will enter his twenty-second year with the UNC Men’s Varsity Soccer team and his twentieth year as the Head Coach. Out of the 15 NCAA tournament appearances, Coach Bolowich has led the UNC team to 12 of them, assisted in two, and won the National Championship title in 2001. He has directed the boy’s Camp at UNC since 1990. A native of Germany, he is certified in both Germany and the US with professional coaching licenses. Coach Bolowich received his master’s degree in Sports Education at the University of Mainz in Germany and played as well as coached and played in the German third division. Since coming to the US in 1986, he has been and still is actively involved in youth soccer. He is currently the coach of the Triangle United Soccer Association (TUSA) U-16 Boys Premier soccer team and won the 2007 Score at the Shore tournament. GOALKEEPER COACH and CAMP COORDINATOR, Coach Jeff Negalha
We offer goalkeeper training at every session. The fifth year UNC men's varsity soccer goalkeeper coach, Jeff Negalha, oversees many aspects of camp administration including goalkeeper training. Keepers will train in all aspects of their game while at camp: technical, tactical, physical, and mental. Goalkeepers will put their new skills to the test in the evening matches and small-sided games during the day. Keepers will also receive a graded evaluation at the end of the camp session.
CAMP COACH and DAY CAMP DIRECTOR, Coach Carlos Somoano
Coach Carlos Somoano will enter his seventh year as UNC Men's Assistant Coach. A player and graduate of Eckerd College, he is very passionate and knowledgable about the game of soccer. He is also the Director of the Junior Heels Soccer Day Camp, a half day camp for boys ages 6-11.
